What to Expect During a Home Renovation in Prince George, BC

Renovating your home is exciting—but it’s also a process that takes planning, patience, and trust. At IKONIK Renovations, we believe that setting clear expectations is key to a successful experience. Here’s what you can expect when working with a professional renovation team:

1. Initial Consultation & Planning

This is where your vision starts to take shape. We’ll walk through your space, discuss your ideas, goals, and budget, and then offer advice on layout, materials, and timelines. Once we align, we move into design and quoting.

2. Design & Quote Approval

You’ll receive a detailed quote outlining costs, timelines, and scope of work. We’ll also finalize drawings or layouts if needed. Once you approve, we lock in your renovation schedule.

3. Permits & Prep Work

If permits are required (like for structural work or electrical), we’ll handle the process. We’ll also prep your space—this could include moving furniture, protecting floors, and setting up dust control.

4. Demolition

The tear-out begins. This part can be noisy and messy, but it’s short-lived. We use dust barriers and clean up daily to keep things as tidy as possible.

5. Construction Phase

Now the transformation begins. Framing, electrical, plumbing, drywall, and finishing work all happen in stages. You’ll get regular updates so you know what’s happening and when.

6. Inspections (If Needed)

If required by your municipality, inspections happen at key stages—especially for electrical or structural changes. We schedule and coordinate all of these.

7. Finishing Touches

This includes painting, flooring, cabinetry, fixtures, and final trim. It’s where your vision becomes reality. Our team takes care to make the details perfect.

8. Walkthrough & Final Approval

We do a final cleanup and walkthrough with you. Any small adjustments or touch-ups are handled immediately. We want you 100% satisfied before we wrap up.

Pro Tip: Renovations can feel disruptive—but good communication makes all the difference. We keep you informed every step of the way.
